What's happening at the Biosphere Festival?

Over 50 free or low cost events for adults and children alike!

Two days of talks and workshops at our Quay Arts Biosphere Hub, fun and imagination at Wildheart Animal Sanctuary’s FOCAS Festival and a wide variety of community events all over the island.

The island community has come together to put on a wonderful variety of events across the Island celebrating our UNESCO Biosphere Reserve for the Biosphere Festival.

At the Biosphere Hub (Quay Arts Centre) there are talks, walks, workshops, and performances, all free. These include local folk songs, crafty upcycling, the Prehistoric Wight, Creaturama constructions, Doughnut Economics, a Newport nature walk, wildlife friendly gardening, energy equality and miniature printmaking.

Elsewhere there are walks, talks, workshops, nature activities, storytelling, art, music, films, fashion, craft, local traders, gardening and more.

Proud to be partnering with the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary and their FOCAS festival on the same dates. FOCAS stands for “Focus on Conservation and Science” and aims to make science and conservation more accessible to all children, bringing both to life in a fun and imaginative way. On Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th June 2024 they will be giving exclusive access to the Sanctuary for just £2.50 per person! Find out more on their website.
