BIOSPHERE FESTIVAL

28th June - 6th July 2025

What is the
Biosphere Festival?

The Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival returns in 2025 even bigger and better. Nine days of free or low cost events all over the Island to celebrate our UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

There is something for everyone: wildlife, landscape, art, walks, talks, storytelling, film, music, craft, history, dance, gardening, fashion, science and more. It will be a thought-provoking, moving, inspirational celebration of what makes our Island great, showcasing over 50 local organisations each running their own events.

Whether you're an Islander or a visitor, take this opportunity to find hidden gems, unearth expert local knowledge and enjoy our beautiful and vibrant island nature.

The festival relies on our island community to join together and put on events inspired by our Biosphere. Thank you to all the local organisers have put together events to be on our wonderful festival programme for 2025.

If you or your organisation are part of the festival this year, here’s what you need to know:

We also need volunteers to help organise and assist during the festival. Please email us if you are interested at hello@iwbiosphere.org.

Plastic Free July

We are working to make the Biosphere Festival single-use plastic free and this year our Festival is supporting Plastic Free July.

As a coastal Biosphere it is more important than ever to be mindful of single use plastics, as many of them end up in the sea! It is estimated that UK households throw away a staggering 90 billion pieces of plastic packaging a year, or 1.7 billion pieces a week!

Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. Will you be part of Plastic Free July by pledging to refuse single-use plastics?

Festival event organisers

There is an incredible amount of support and guidance for this campaign here, Get Involved - Plastic Free July, that is specifically is aimed at festival organiser. We encourage you to sign up, or at the least identify at least 1 single-use plastic that you will remove during your event.

 Festival Goers

You can help us support this campaign in the following ways: Take your own re-usable cup to Biosphere Events to reduce single use coffee cups; refuse plastic straws; bring your own re-usable shopping bags; eat with reusable utensils and choose plastic free snacks!
