Rivers & Beavers Walk with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust

  • School Lane Car Park School Lane Sandown, England, PO36 United Kingdom (map)

Join us for a riverside guided walk along the Eastern Yar to learn more about the river’s features, natural flood management works, why this river is an important habitat for local wildlife and how this river could support beavers.

You'll be able to find out more about our ambitions to release beavers on the Isle of Wight, to bring a multitude of benefits to our Island, from boosting biodiversity to delivering ecosystem services including reducing flash flooding and improving water quality.

The walk will be led by Nicola Wheeler, the Trust's Beaver Recovery Project Officer, and Emma Hunt, Isle of Wight Reserves Officer. All donations raised from this event will support the work we do at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

Entry fee is by donation

There will be some steep paths and some of the terrain is hilly. Please wear sturdy shoes (walking boots or similar) or wellies.

No age restriction
